The Heavy Metal Update (previously known as The Big One) is a major content update for Indie Pogo. This patch is Part 1 of this giant 2-part patch. It introduces newcomer Bullet Kin, as well as a complete overhaul of the game, including new battle mechanics, modes, stages, and features.
This page will be reworked once more info and the patch notes are released. All information is subject to change.
Update Content
Additions
- All characters will be given new close-range Melees, as well as Side Specials.
- New grab mechanic, already tested in Beta 0.0.0.2 and Beta 0.0.0.3.
- A new character: Bullet Kin.
- 2 new stages: Canabalt Skyline, and Well Caverns.
- New feature: Bubble Swap. This feature allows players to change characters mid-match while bubbled.
- New multiplayer mode: Crown Pogo. Players fight for a crown that spawns onto the stage, building up points that increase over time.
- New single-player mode: Infinite Pogo. Players will fight an endless onslaught of CPU fighters that grow stronger as the game progresses.
- All characters' arcade paths have been changed. No other info has been given at this time.
- Mass balance changes.
- New trophies.
- New alternate skins.
- Remaining Kickstarter NPCs added.
- Blockman
- Blockman gets an entrance animation where he sips margarita on a chair, then jump off of it, like in The Blocks Cometh's trailer.
- Blockman can perform his grounded charge in different angles.
- Blockman gets a new Up Special, when his block is already out, where he performs a headbutt.
- Blockman gets a new move where he grabs his opponent and sends it in the opposite direction.
- Blockman gets a new dashing move, punching foes in his way.
